Who?

My name is Rob Potschka. In my day job I support about 300 users at the second largest company in Canada.  I have been building Enterprise class web applications for my internal customers and thought there was a need for someone to change how Web Forms were built.  If you look around the Internet there are some big players, but they are pretty plain in there offerings.  Sure they have Calculation Engines, Payment Processing and Field Rules.  Now all those mentioned technologies are great, and FormThis offers the same things, but what about the structure of a paper form? Did they ever look at it's complexities?  They haven't and that's what FormThis has attempted to address...

In my daytime job I am the expert when it comes to Web Form design and innovation.  I'm the guy they go to when they are looking for an out of the box solution.  With an extensive Data Warehouse background and ASP.Net development since the very begining of the technology I have an aresnal of skills.  I have built a Customer Relationship Management tool from scratch, Territory Management tools, Contract Management sites and so much more.

So here we are.  FormThis started in Summer 2010.   We initially started with a few firms in the Ottawa Valley (Canada).  They were looking for some way to capture information via a web form.  One client wanted a Web Form to mimic a paper based layout.  So I came up with the Go Wide technology.  It allows you to place any number of Widgets side by side to mimic paper based layouts.  We are currently the only company that can do this. The 'other guys' will tell you that a wide form is not good; but we give you the option, to be as creative as you need to be. A few of the other guys (and gals) can place two widgets side by side.  That's pretty good but it sure does limit the Form design.  Here's the thing....when you build forms for a Client and they want a Gender pick list next to the First and Last name fields and a Datepicker for a Birthdate next to that, you really need to push the envelope and just do it.  At FormThis you can and without any coding!

Another client wanted a Registration Form for more than one person in the Family.  The 'other guys' will have you guess on the number of fields in the Web Form.  I came up with Dynamic Rows.  So for example you could place the Gender pick list, the First and Last Name and a Datepicker to capture the Birthdate on a row with the Go Wide technology. When you preview the Form a plus sign button appears to the right of the last field.  When a user clicks it, the row of fields and alll of its functionality is dynamically inserted into the Web Form.  Now this is pretty cool stuff.  As the Web Form designer there is no guessing on your part on how many fields to include.  The user can insert additional rows, one for each registrant.

So getting back to being a bit different, the Go Wide and Dynamic Rows allows you to create some very cool Forms.  We have created Forms for companies to capture Inventory items from just one row of fields, Sales Forms to record any number of produts, Customer Contracts, Petition Forms for more than one person in the office and so much more.

So there you have it, that's a little about FormThis.  FormThis is a small company of 5 but with big asperations: we want you to create Forms, Your Way, Today!

Enjoy!
